Getting to know a tightly-knit family, whose members are passionate about its history and its work has really been a stimulating experience, a great opportunity to grow for us footwear designers<\/strong>.
Being able to constantly exchange views with the company owners, expert footwear designers and creativity enthusiasts, has been key to the success in completing our design project assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/figure>\n\n\n\nThe request<\/strong>: our objective was to succeed in designing a footwear collection dedicated to women who love the mountains<\/strong>, but are nonetheless always keen on a feminine and stylish look<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Our process<\/strong>: in order to design footwear, we started from the study of previous collections, then focused on market research<\/strong> results on competitors, which involved a survey of current products. We then moved on to drafting our collection proposal<\/strong>, submitting it to the client, giving advice with regard to choices and sharing increasingly targeted projects. Our programme? The next phase has been inspiration<\/strong> for design<\/strong>: research journeys aimed at analysing the products on offer, collecting pictures from social media, magazines and websites dedicated outdoor apparel and outfits of a certain style for the mountain.

This led on to the most practical part<\/strong> of the footwear design process.
We contacted suppliers in our search for raw materials<\/strong> (high quality leather, valuable fabrics), accessories and components<\/strong> (soles and welts).<\/p>\n\n\n\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.estrolab.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/Bressan_5-1024x683.jpg\")

For each structure we started to design several proposals in terms of pattern developments<\/strong>, all alternative one to the other, but always connected by details to provide a guiding thread making for a harmonious collection.
After completing the graphic proposals, we associated each pattern with a cutting suggestion<\/strong>, presenting possible materials and colours, focusing on actions which would make each product\u2019s details valuable and unique<\/strong>: Lurex hides, animalier prints, combinations with a feminine and original touch, strass and stud decorations, fur inserts with motifs and shades in soft hues, personalized leather accessories enhanced by crystals.
At the same time we started the prototyping<\/strong> phase, looking for any faults in the first prototypes, providing indications as to lines and proportions of the upper, to the sample collection<\/strong> production for the sales campaign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
